At the doctoral level, the Computer Engineering program at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University is offered through the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, a unique joint engineering school shared between Florida A&M University and Florida State University - the only shared college of engineering in the nation. This collaboration between a top Historically Black University and a Tier-1 research institution creates a diverse learning environment with cutting-edge engineering skills and real-world experience that employers value. Students earn a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCpE) and complete 100 semester hours of common required courses including 24 hours of general education, 42 hours of engineering core courses, and 34 hours of required electrical and computer engineering courses. The program combines software skills of computer science with hardware skills of electrical engineering, preparing graduates for careers in circuits, systems, networks, machine control, and communications technologies.
