SideFX Releases Free Rigged and Animated Mech Asset for Unreal Engine 5

SideFX has expanded its Content Library with the addition of a new free asset: a fully rigged and animated mech specifically tailored for integration into Unreal Engine 5 projects. This robust asset comes pre-loaded with a selection of baked animation sequences, such as walk cycles and idle stances, making it ready for immediate deployment in game development or serving as a foundation for further custom animation work.
The creation of this detailed mech involved several talented artists. The APEX rig, ragdoll setup, animation clips, and the optimization for Unreal Engine were developed by Henry Dean and Mihnea Stoica. The original design of the mech was conceived by Vang Cki, while Daniel Siriste was responsible for the technical aspects including quad remeshing, UV mapping, and texturing.
The Content Library is a valuable resource provided by SideFX, offering a growing collection of free scene files and Houdini Digital Assets. These resources are intended for both educational purposes and direct use in professional pipelines, providing users with high-quality assets to accelerate their creative workflows.
